Gala day goes down to the farm

-

The Dalgety Bay and Hillend Gala team are inviting revellers to join them On the Farm.

The gala, which will take place on Saturday June 9, is sponsored for the second year running by Muir Group.

To encourage children to learn about life on the farm the gala crew will be working closely with Tesco Dalgety Bay to promote its Farm to Fork campaign.

Organisers have also joined forces with the Royal Highland Education Trust to bring interactive farm-themed activities and surprises, alongside the usual rides and bouncy castles.

The winner of a poster competition, whose artwork will adorn the front of the gala programme, has been revealed as Carly Morris, 8. Lauren Whitfield, 6, and Mya Bald, 8, were second and third, respectively.

The royal party has also been chosen and includes Clark Young, Skye Niven, Lewis Carmichael, Alee Smith, Murray Dominy, Savannah Henderson, Riley Napier and Neve Hardy.

William McAllister, property director of Muir Group, said: “The gala is a great opportunity for the whole community to come together.”

Committee member Katy Stollery said: “2017 was our first year as a new committee and we were delighted with the success of the day. We really hope to build on that and create another gala day to remember for all the families of Dalgety Bay.”
