Ram lamb leads way at 1,200gn

Pedigree Hampshire Down sheep sold to a top of 1,200gn for a ram lamb from Lecropt at the annual sale at Stirling. Ewe lambs sold to 800gn for the overall champion from Janet and Brian Hill, Isle of Bute; shearlings sold to 700gn from Ballycreel­ly; and gimmers sold to 650gn from St-Paul. At the show, the reserve overall and reserve female champion was a gimmer from David and Denise Middleditc­h & Son, St-Paul. The male champion, a shearling, came from Hazel Hindmarch, Fellrose. Lawrie & Symington, Forfar, had forward 41 prime cattle, three OTMs and 504 prime sheep.
