Fife Pride announces final line-up featuring former X Factor stars

-

Organisers of Fife Pride have announced the final line-up for the July 7 event in Kirkcaldy.

X Factor stars the Cutkelvins are the headliners, joining former Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus, Allan Jay, Abba Gold and an impressive list of local talent.

Festival co-convener Neale Hanvey said: “We’re so grateful they were able to take time from their hectic touring schedule to come to Fife.

“We’re also delighted to announce that UK-wide Pride star Allan Jay and his dancers will also be making an appearance for Fife Pride this year. He might not be a name known to everyone, but we’re confident he will go down a storm.

“This year the headline acts will be appearing throughout the day, rather than all at the end, so be sure to get here in good time so as not to miss your favourite. We’ll be posting updates on timings ahead of the day on our Facebook page.”

Fife Pride kicks off at midday with a parade from Carlyle Road, marching down Kirk Wynd then along the High Street before heading up Whytescauseway to the town square, where the main festival is being held.

O’Connell’s bar and diner has also confirmed it will throw the Fife Pride after-party from 8pm to 2am, with Mr Hanvey adding: “Whilst this is still in planning, expect some great entertainment as we continue to party in style into the wee small hours.”

Fife Pride is financially supported by Fife Council, the National Lottery Fund and Shell UK and works in partnership with LGBT+ charity Pink Saltire, Fife Centre for Equalities, Fife Cultural Trust and Kirkcaldy 4 All.

Stuart Duffy, founder of Pink Saltire, reinforced the importance of Pride saying: “There’s still so much more to do in every community to completely eradicate discrimination...and Pride is a vital element of that work, fighting hatred with love.”

Drag queen Nancy Clench will again host, with burlesque star Brandy Montmartre among the other performers.
