Edinburgh flight path Q&A

-

Edinburgh Airport bosses are to hold a Facebook Q&A session to discuss the controversial new flight path proposal.

The online meeting will allow residents to put forward any queries they have about the E7a route to the director of communications Gordon Robertson.

He will be joined by James Ellaway from Ricardo, the airport’s environmental consultants who have worked on the airspace change process.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday between 6 and 7.30pm.

The move follows two public meetings in Inverkeithing which were attended by hundreds of concerned residents from the surrounding villages.

Gordon Robertson said: “We want to give people as much information as possible and we’re trying something quite innovative for a supplementary consultation, or any consultation for that matter, by holding this Facebook Q&A.

“We know from our public sessions that people within the affected communities of Cramond, North Queensferry, Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay have questions on the proposed new flight path so we’ve extended the consultation period and invite them to put questions to us on Tuesday.

“We want the process to be transparent and we want people to be as informed as possible as they respond to the consultation. I hope this Facebook Q&A helps us with that and I look forward to answering those questions on Tuesday.”
