The daughter of a Monifieth grandmother decapitated in a brutal attack in South Africa vows she’ll never forgive her killer.

Sandra Malcolm, 74, was hacked to death by Sheree Prince, 22, who had broken into her Cape Town home in April 2015.

Prince, who is due to be sentenced tomorrow, wrote an apology letter to the family of Ms Malcolm asking for forgiveness but her daughter Alison Williams has claimed it means nothing.

Speaking before a hearing in Western Cape High Court, Alison said: “We cannot accept her apology. The whole family is asking for the highest amount of incarceration this court can hand down.

“We have not even begun grieving because of this court case. She deserves to stay behind bars where she belongs.”

Her body was discovered by her grandson, Scott Malcolm, in her home at Marina Da Gama, Cape Town.

Prosecutor Liezl Herbst told the court the fact Prince was just 18 at the time should not mean a shorter sentence.

She said: “Why kill a person who is trying to help you? The accused’s lack of empathy is chilling.”

Prince admitted the murder in March this year after changes to her legal team and psychiatric tests delayed her trial for years.

During the case she gave a horrifying account of what happened that night.

In a statement she said: “I told her that I climbed through the window, that I was looking for help and showed her my burnt foot.

“We then went into the kitchen where she gave me Savlon mixed with water to wash my foot. She made me toast and tea. The woman said she was going to phone for an ambulance. I said no and grabbed the knife. I told her I would stab her if she called the police. She tried to take the knife from me.

“I stabbed her in her chest once and she fell to the ground. I wanted to leave, but saw her trying to get up.

“I then killed her by decapitating her with the big knife.

The statement continued: “I tried to cut her body in order to take it apart.

“I sent a message to my father using the woman’s phone, saying: ‘Ek’s in groot kak (I’m in deep s***), help.’

“I then cut off both of her arms and tried to cut off her legs, but failed to remove them completely and then I used an axe to chop it off.”
