Branch manager Lyn Lister said: “We always try and go the extra mile for our customers so when we heard about this initiative we jumped at the chance to get involved.

“It was great to have the opportunity to go along and learn more about the impact dementia has on people and also what we could do to help them.

“We see at first hand some of the challenges our customers face, the team have all fully got behind this initiative and we are really proud to be awarded dementia friendly status and look forward to doing all we can to welcome and support our customers.”

Ruth McCabe, Dementia Friendly project manager, said: “Our mission is to help improve daily life for people living with dementia and their carers and change the way local people think, talk and act when it comes to dementia.
