Rosyth double offender warned he faces jail if he continues
A Rosyth man who committed drink-drive offence was involved in an incident of street disorder just a few months later.
John Morrison was warned he was facing a jail sentence if he continued to offend.
Morrison, 30, of Elder Place, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on October 29 last year in Townhill Road, Dunfermline, he drove after consuming excess alcohol.
His reading was 73 milligrammes in 100 millilitres of blood, the legal limit being 50 milligrammes.
He also admitted that on April 25 at High Street, Inverkeithing, he conducted himself in a disorderly manner by shouting, swearing and making threats of violence. Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said that the drink-driving incident occurred after his client had been at a party and left following a row with his partner.
“He seems to turn to drink in times of stress,” the solicitor said.
Sheriff Gillian Wade deferred sentence on the street disturbance until October 10.
For the drink-drive offence, a community payback order was imposed with 135 hours of unpaid work and a three-year driving ban.
The sheriff warned Morrison that he was “standing at the door of a custodial sentence” if he did not change his ways.
