Extra support for Fife jobseekers

-

Fifers looking to boost their chances in the job market, upskill or try something new can get extra support this summer.

Skills Development Scotland is running a series of events and drop-in sessions.

SDS’s trained careers advisers will be running additional support sessions at centres and other venues.

They have already staged an employability week in Glenrothes and a training advice session in Kirkcaldy.

The Kirkcaldy careers centre will be hosting monthly drop-in sessions at Solid Rock in Burntisland for people looking for advice on local opportunities, building a CV and preparing for interviews.

Leven’s centre at Fife College’s Levenmouth Campus will be hosting sessions every Tuesday from 2-4pm.

The Dunfermline careers centre will also have drop-in sessions on Tuesdays from 2-4pm, while Cowdenbeath’s centre at The Yard, 411 High Street, will be hosting sessions every Wednesday and Friday from 2-4pm.

SDS area manager for Fife Heather Tytler said: “Our new careers events and advice sessions taking place across the local authority offer a different way for our advisers to interact with local people.

“There are opportunities for people of all ages to engage with our advisers, and we hope that these extra sessions will give people across Fife the tools and knowledge they need to boost their career options.”
