Firms urged to complete survey as rail link plans considered
Businesses in Levenmouth are being encouraged to take part in a sustainable transport survey which closes on Friday.
The online survey builds on ongoing stakeholder meetings with local councillors, businesses, Stagecoach and Network Rail, among others, as part of the Levenmouth Sustainable Transport Study.
Transport Scotland is working with the council to identify opportunities and challenges across the existing local transport network.
As part of this work, the study will identify if further consideration should be given to progressing the proposed Levenmouth rail link.
Transport Scotland, working in partnership with Fife Council, is running the survey to hear the views of local firms on transport links.
Businesses are being asked how local transport infrastructure affects them and if they feel visitors to the area are being put off. The survey is also looking to find out how transport issues have had an impact on investors in the area.
The council’s SNP co-leader David Alexander said: “We want to improve transport links to help open up Levenmouth to investment, tourism and jobs.
“I encourage all local businesses to engage with the online survey.”
David Ross, the council’s Labour co-leader, added: “Fife Council is committed to improving life chances for all, and this means providing local jobs for local people and improving connectivity and regional transport. Improved transport will unlock growth, jobs and new housing.”
