Locked-out man threw breeze block through his own window

-

A Dunfermline man threw a breeze block through his living room window when his partner would not allow him into the house because of his drunken state.

Anthony Godden, 33, of Ochil Terrace, is now behind bars after being jailed at the town’s sheriff court.

He admitted that on June 20, at his home, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, acting aggressively, banged on doors and windows, uttered abusive remarks towards his partner, threw bricks at a window causing damage to it and made threats of sexual violence.

The incident began at 12.20am when Godden’s partner was in bed and heard him shouting from outside “Let me in”. She looked out of the window and saw him standing near the house intoxicated and holding a bottle of Buckfast.

She told him to go away and Godden responded by asking if she “had her boyfriend there”.

He continued shouting at her then she heard a loud smash and when she went into the living room she saw a breeze block on the floor. Neighbours also heard the commotion and police received a number of 999 calls.

An ambulance was also called to the scene as Godden had injured himself and was bleeding. He said: “They’re my windows and I can do what I want.”

He then told a police officer: “I’ll rape your wife and children.”

Sheriff Charles MacNair described Godden’s behaviour as “disgraceful” and jailed him for four months. He told him: “The public interest has to be looked at. Allowing people like you to continue to offend without consequences is not appropriate.”
