Residents’ disgust at dumped canine

-

Dundee residents have expressed shock and disgust after the decomposing body of a dog was found dumped in a bin bag – with some saying they believe it had been shot.

The rotting animal was discovered yesterday inside a bin liner on the path leading to Mossgiel Crescent in Linlathen.

Nearby residents had reportedly noticed a bad smell in the street and went to investigate before making the sickening discovery.

Facebook user XLleigh Shauni said: “I can’t actually believe what I’ve just witnessed, some SICK EVIL TWISTED scumbag has killed a dog and shoved it in a black bin bag and left it on the grass in the alleyway.

“To make it even worse it’s such a busy part of Linlathen and it looks like whoever has done it has shot the dog in the mouth!”

Police were called to the street, but because the animal was so badly decomposed, police are not treating it as a crime. The matter is being dealt with by Dundee City Council.”

Mossgiel Crescent resident Colin Mitchell, 59, said: “I just find it utterly shocking that someone could do that and just dump it outside there. It’s not the done thing.”

The breed of dog is not yet known, but a police spokesman also confirmed the body is not believed to be that of Pixie the pug that was allegedly last seen being carried lifeless through the streets of Dundee last month.

I just find it shocking that someone could do that
