FOLK CLUB Dunfermlin­e Folk Club is hosting Shamblesto­ne at its session in the Glen Pavern, Pittencrie­ff Street, tonight from 8.

Joanna Stark and Elisabeth Flett first started playing together in 2008 as part of folk trio Three’s a Crowd and have performed across the UK.

LEAGUE OF HOSPITAL FRIENDS

The St Andrews League of Hospital Friends’ committee has passed on its thanks to everyone who attended, or contribute­d to, its recent successful fundraisin­g event.

The group held a coffee morning in St Andrews Town Hall at the end of July which raised £1,163.

FALKLAND

The annual, free entry, art exhibition in Falkland Upper Town Hall will open this Friday and run through to Sunday August 19.

It will be open daily between 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The venue itself is something of a work of art. The attractive Georgian room, with high, moulded ceiling, large fireplace and stunning views of Falkland, has featured in the television series Outlander and is not generally open to the public.

A wide variety of artwork, all by local artists, will be on display in an extensive range of mediums, styles and prices. All of the pieces will be for sale and can be taken away when purchased.

BROADBAND ISSUES North-east Fife residents battling bad broadband will be able to discuss their concerns with experts from Digital Scotland.

The team will hold a joint surgery with local MP Stephen Gethins in Anstruther town hall on Friday from 11.30am to 1.30pm. No appointmen­ts are necessary.

FOSSIL WORLD

Deep Sea World is hosting a weekend dedicated to the world of fossils on Saturday and Sunday.

A series of talks and demonstrat­ions will explore the lost world of dinosaurs and Jurassic sharks.

COFFEE MORNING Christ’s Kirk in Pitcoudie, north Glenrothes, will have a coffee morning with home baking from 10am to noon on Saturday.
