A chance to experience — and learn about — top flight circus skills is on offer in Highland Perthshire tomorrow.

One of Scotland’s few touring nouveau cirque companies is bringing its latest family show to the grounds of Birnam Arts at 2pm, with a free workshop revealing a few tricks of the trade afterwards.

The venue is set to play host to colourful comedy Adventures In Time, based around a group of madcap steampunk characters who have to deploy all their unusual skills to return home after finding themselves trapped in the past.

The Albanauts performance troupe sets about “inventing time travel”, with the young cast playing it for laughs with spectacular tricks and problem-solving high jinks.

In recent years Circus Alba has used crowdfunding to develop a new training centre in Leith offering tuition in the likes of contortion, aerial skills and the urban movement discipline parkour.
