Section of A92 to be closed overnight for resurfacing
A £50,000 programme of resurfacing and safety improvements will be carried out on a section of the A92 in Glenrothes used by 18,000 vehicles a day.
The work will affect traffic heading for the southbound approach of the Tullis Russell roundabout.
The road will be closed between Preston roundabout and Star junction for six nights from this Sunday, with northbound traffic diverted via the A911 Queensway and B969 Western Avenue, rejoining the A92 at Balfarg.
Sound-bound traffic will follow the same diversion in the opposite direction.
The closure will only be in place overnight from 7.30pm to 6.30am in a bid to minimise disruption.
During this time, traffic which would normally access the A92 at the Tullis Russell roundabout from the B9130 will be diverted along the B9130 and A911 to Preston roundabout.
Consultations will be taking place with local residents and other affected parties in advance of the resurfacing to make them aware of the arrangements.
Andy Thompson from Bear Scotland said: “These works will prove safety for trunk road users by clarifying lane destinations on this roundabout. The improvements have been scheduled to minimise delays, however we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destinations.”

Bear Scotland said materials removed from the existing carriageway would be recycled using Sepa-approved methods.
