Cat lovers invited to purrfect day
Cat lovers are invited to Fife Cat Shelter’s open day taking place in Scotlandwell on Saturday.
Causeway Cattery is hosting the fundraising event, which will include crafts, refreshments, a photographic competition and a chance to meet some of the resident felines.
The shelter asked people to send in a picture of their cats and received 101 submissions, which will be on display during the event.
Visitors can vote for their favourite moggy mugshot.
Rhona Gordon from Fife Cat Shelter said: “There are some amazing photographs.
“The winner will get a canvas made of their cat’s photograph.”
The cat shelter rehomes hundreds of cats each year and relies on public support.
“The costs involved in treating, neutering, vaccinating, feeding and boarding these cats and kittens has been so high,” said Rhona.
“We need we many people as possible to come along to our open day to raise funds to help us continue our work.”
Anyone wanting to donate to the shelter can do so via its website, www.fifecatshelter.org, where there are also suggestions for fundraising, or call 01383 830286.
The shelter is also always looking for people who could give a cat a loving home.
Rhona added: “If you’re going to have a cat, you should really think about your circumstances, and if they are going to be stable for a period of time.”
