Scotland Women made history after reaching the World Cup finals for the first team following a 2-1 win against Albania.

Here, Courier Sport looks at the five key players in their qualifying campaign:

● 1. Lisa Evans: There are two Perth players in the squad – Evans and Lana Clelland. Evans, who now plays for Arsenal after previously starring for Bayern Munich, has been a regular starter and scored a dramatic 90th minute winner to finish off a 3-2 comeback win in Poland.

● 2. Rachael Corsie: Having captained Scotland Under-19s at the Uefa Championship finals in 2008, 10 years later the Utah Royals centre-back has led her country to the World Cup finals. With 101 caps to her name, Corsie has become a key figure and leader in Scotland’s side.

● 3. Erin Cuthbert: Chelsea midfielder Cuthbert has shot to prominence in the Scotland squad with 22 caps at just 20 years old. Cuthbert helped Scotland to qualify with four goals in four games before the Albania clash, scoring the winner against Belarus in July. ● 4. Kim Little: After missing out on the Uefa Women’s Euro 2017 due to an ACL injury, Arsenal midfielder Little now has the chance on the world’s biggest stage. She scored the opener against Albania and is integral in Scotland’s side, able to operate in a number of positions.

● 5. Jane Ross: Since making her professional debut for Scotland against England in March 2009, Ross has gone on to score 56 goals in 119 appearances for her national team, making her the leading scorer in the squad.

The West Ham striker sealed Scotland’s qualification to the World Cup 2019 with a second half header.
