The area of Perthshire a district nurse is expected to cover at night has been described as “scandalous” by a Blairgowrie GP. Dr Ronald Pyle, of Strathmore surgery, came up against the problem when he requested the assistance of a district nurse in the early hours. He found that the nurse on call was based in Perth and was covering Errol, Inchture, Guildtown, Blairgowrie, Rattray, Glenshee, Coupar Angus, Meigle and Alyth districts. “A vast area and a vast problem,” he commented.
