Funeral for woman found in flat
The funeral for a woman who was found dead in a Glenrothes flat, sparking a major police probe, is to be held next week.
Shelley Morrison was discovered unresponsive inside the property on Forres Drive at around 6pm on October 4.
The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, where the body of Thomas Meechan was also found.
A friend and neighbour raised the alarm after noticing the door of the property, which belonged to the 48-year-old man, was lying open.
The deaths, which were treated as “unexplained” by investigators, were not thought to be suspicious following postmortem examinations.
Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports.
Friends shared an announcement about the funeral for Miss Morrison, who was known as Ruby Tuesday to her nearest and dearest.
A service will be held at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Monday.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Cunningham of Fife Division said: “Although the investigation continues to establish a cause of death, there is no evidence of violence or anything to suggest that the man and woman were the victims of harm prior to their deaths.
“Our condolences remain with their families at this time,” he added.
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
