Series of accidents on Fife roads
Several crashes were reported on Fife roads yesterday morning.
Rush-hour motorists faced travel delays following a fourvehicle crash on the A92.
Police were called to the scene at the southbound carriageway near junction 2A near Halbeath around 6.45am.
It is understood that some of the drivers suffered minor injuries in the incident but it was not known if anyone was taken to hospital.
The vehicles – an Audi, Vauxhall, Seat and a Hyundai – were moved on to the hard shoulder at around 7.20am but traffic remained heavy in the surrounding areas.
Recovery was arranged for two of the vehicles at around 8.25am as road traffic officers remained on the scene.
Emergency services attended at least two accidents near St Andrews, where motorists complained roads were slippery as temperatures dropped.
An elderly woman was treated for shock in a crash involving four vehicles on the road between the town and Pitscottie.
No one was seriously injured in the collision, near the turnoff for Craigtoun Country Park at around 10.40am, but vehicles were said to be badly damaged.
An ambulance was also called to an earlier collision in the same area involving a Land Rover and an Audi, just before 8am, around half a mile from Pitscottie. No serious injuries were reported.
