Family festival set to celebrate Rothes Halls’ 25th anniversary
A festival of family fun will celebrate the Rothes Halls’ 25th anniversary next month.
The event on Saturday November 10 will help locals and visitors recap a quarter century of concerts, theatre, stand-up comedy, Christmas shows and family entertainment under one roof in Glenrothes.
To celebrate its continued place at the heart of the community, the venue will host a day of party events with crossgenerational appeal, followed by an over-18s silent disco, which will revisit the huge variety of bands who have played there over the years.
Events inside the venue will range from a Fife Tae Kwon Do demonstration and workshops by Studio 38 to scenes from Leslie Amateur Dramatic Club’s upcoming Flint Street Nativity.
Outside the building, the Glenrothes Amateur Musical Association will be performing open air highlights from Rogers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!
Visitors can enjoy a trip down memory lane with an archive photo exhibition in the foyer, featuring seldom seen images taken during the last 25 years.
Ticketed events will include a birthday book bug and soft play session at 10am and Jolly Jigglers from 1pm.
Children’s entertainment throughout the day will also include face painting, a balloon modeller, library crafts and a magician.
Also, the search will be on for the Rothes Rabbit as youngsters follow his treasure trail and play hide and seek.
Grown-ups will be able to enjoy an afternoon tea from 2-4pm, as well as the evening silent disco, celebrating 25 years of live music at the venue.
