Fife’s fireworks and bonfire displays set to light up the kingdom
Fife’s most spectacular fireworks display is expected to attract crowds of thousands on Saturday.
Last year, more than 40,000 people attended the event at Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline, one of the biggest in Scotland.
Entertainment will be provided from 6pm in the form of DJs and live bands.
Elsewhere, bonfire night celebrations will be brightening up the dark nights across Fife. Event organisers have asked people not to bring their own fireworks or sparklers.
The fireworks will commence at Ceres on Friday at 6pm. The annual event at the Bow Butts is organised by Ceres and District Community Council. Also on Friday is Crossford’s bonfire and fireworks night organised by the children’s gala team, which starts at 6.30pm at King George V Park.
Saturday sees bonfire nights taking place in a number of locations.
At Gilvenbank Park in Glenrothes, children’s entertainment will be on offer from 6pm as the family event gets under way. Organised by Glenleven Scouts, the gathering will include a fireworks display starting at 7pm.
The Elie fireworks will be held at The Ship Inn, where the fun starts at 5pm.
At Limekilns, the 81st Fife Sea Scout Group is putting on a show from 7pm at the Scout Hall in Brucehaven Road.
Gauldry’s fireworks, run by the Morison Duncan Hall management committee, will take place north of Main Road from 7pm.
On Sunday, Buckhaven and Denbeath bonfire and fireworks display takes place from 6.30pm at Buckhaven Braes, while Cupar Golf Club’s event will open at 4.45pm, with fireworks at 6pm.
Next week will start with a bang as Burntisland’s fireworks night goes ahead on the links from 6pm on Monday. Newton of Falkland’s display is the same evening, with the fire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks from 7pm.
Cardenden’s bonfire and firework celebrations will take place next Friday November 9 at 7pm.
