Queens boss expects it to be tough at Tannadice

-

Queen of the South have an excellent recent record at Tannadice.

But their manager Gary Naysmith believes that counts for nothing given the impact Robbie Neilson has had on the Dundee United team since he took over from Csaba Laszlo.

Naysmith, whose side have only lost once in four visits to Tayside while he has been Queens boss, thinks rejuvenated United are favourites to win tomorrow’s clash between the two teams.

“Under Robbie, Dundee United have taken seven points from nine and have secured good wins at Partick Thistle and Dunfermline,” he said.

“They are building momentum and will see the game against us as a great chance to take things up to another level.

“Players who were out of the team, like Paul McMullan, are back in and looking like they are enjoying their football again.

“They have good players there and we know that we could be up against things.”

Queens lost to Morton in midweek but Naysmith wasn’t disappointed with his team’s performance.

He said: “We actually played well against Morton and I have told the players I want the same level of performance against Dundee United.

“There is only one area that I was disappointed in and that was how we defended setpieces.

“Morton got their two goals from set-pieces so there has to be some improvement there.”
