The heartbroken family of missing Allan Bryant paid tribute to him on the fifth anniversary of his disappearance.

A crowd of friends and supporters joined them to release balloons in the colours of Allan’s beloved football team, Celtic.

The poignant ceremony beside the Bryant family home in Glenrothes marked five years since Allan was last seen leaving a nightclub in the town in the early hours of the morning.

His family believe he was murdered and have tirelessly battled to keep his case in the public eye in the hope someone will come forward with information to provide a long-awaited breakthrough for police still hunting for him.

Balloons were released at 2.02pm on Saturday. Allan was last being seen on CCTV footage leaving Styx nightclub at 2.02am on November 3, 2013.

His father, Allan Sr, mother Marie Degan and sister Amy were comforted by relatives and friends at the emotional gathering.

In a message on the Help Find Allan Bryant Facebook page, Allan senior said: “Thanks to all of our family and friends who turned up today it would have meant so much to Allan.

“If anyone thinks they know anything, no matter how small you may think it is, please contact the police, please end this nightmare for our family.”

As the fifth anniversary approached, Police Scotland also released new footage of Allan who never returned home from a night out just before his 24th birthday.

The clip compiled by the major investigation team shows Allan enjoying himself inside, in a food takeaway and leaving Styx.

No trace of Allan has ever been found despite the extensive police probe and his family’s campaign.

Police issued a fresh appeal for information, in the hope that the recordings would jog memories or encourage people who may be able to help to come forward.
