Health and social care advice and information point to open

-

A new health and social care information point is being launched in Glenrothes today.

The Well, at Marchmont Gate in the Kingdom Centre, will include information stands with community representatives, voluntary sector staff and workers from across health and social care available to chat to local people.

It is one of a number of dropin points which will be situated across the region.

Fife Council’s health and social care spokesman Labour councillor David Graham said Fife Health and Social Care Partnership would be working with communities throughout Fife to create the Wells.

“The Wells are access points for people to drop in and have a chat with health and social care staff, supported by housing staff and partners in the third sector,” he said.

“This will enable people to drop in and have an early conversation with staff who are able to provide local information and support based on what you are looking for.”

It is hoped the Wells will provide a place where local community groups and voluntary organisations can meet members of the public and discuss the support they are able to provide.

This could range from how to find care homes or information to help individuals or a relative to live safely at home, through to befriending opportunities or joining an interest group.

Mr Graham encouraged everyone in the Glenrothes area to drop in to find out more.

It will be open every Wednesday at the Glenrothes Area Residents Federation shop unit from 11am to 1pm. Information can be found at www.fifehealthandsocialcare. org/your-community
