New chief officer for NHS Fife

NHS Fife has a new chief operating officer who will take up the role within acute services in January.

Ellen Ryabov will succeed Jann Gardner, who has worked with the health board for more than three years.

Ms Ryabov has been chief operating officer with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital Trust since April 2016, having worked in the NHS for 28 years.

She started her career as a finance trainee in the Scottish Health Service.

Ms Ryabov said: “I am delighted to be joining NHS Fife and returning to the NHS in Scotland.

“I strongly believe that first-rate patient care can be delivered by providing the right enablers to help improve the health and wellbeing of the local population which NHS Fife serves.

“I look forward to working with the team at NHS Fife to deliver the board’s strategic goals and objectives.”

NHS Fife chief executive Paul Hawkins said: “I am delighted to announce the appointmen­t of Ellen Ryabov as chief operating officer with NHS Fife.

“Ellen is highly regarded in her field not only for her knowledge and experience, but also as a healthcare innovator.

“Her appointmen­t will ensure that NHS Fife continues to provide both safe, high quality care and a great patient experience for people across the kingdom.”
