Motorists warned of roadworks from Cowdenbeath to Crossgates
A section of the A92 between Cowdenbeath and Crossgates in Fife is in line for £390,000 of resurfacing improvements starting tomorrow.
The southbound section of the A92 is used by around 20,000 vehicles every day, meaning the essential surface maintenance works are now required.
The works will begin at 7.30pm tomorrow and will take place over the weekend using 24-hour working, with the resurfacing due to be completed by 6.30am on Monday.
Temporary traffic management measures will be in place tonight for preparation works ahead of the resurfacing beginning tomorrow evening, although these will be lifted before the morning peak hour.
A contraflow system will be in place on the A92 between Cowdenbeath and Crossgates during the works.
The A92 Cowdenbeath southbound on-slip will also be closed throughout the weekend for safety with a signed diversion in place via the A92 northbound to Lochgelly, where motorists can then rejoin the southbound A92 to resume their journey.
The works follow on from previous investments made by Transport Scotland on the A92 which included repairs to a section of the northbound A92 at Cowdenbeath, Crossgates southbound off-slip, Cowdenbeath northbound off-slip and A92 Lochgelly northbound on-slip.
Andy Thompson, Bear Scotland’s north-east representative, said the work had been scheduled to minimise delays, but he encouraged motorists to bear it in mind when they plan their journeys.
