HERITAGE GROUP
Markinch Heritage Group will welcome Professor John McManus to its meeting tonight at 7pm in 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch.
He will talk about coal mining in the East Neuk and Markinch, with memories of old mines and workers’ stories.
LADIES CHOIR
East Fife Ladies Choir will hold its annual Christmas Cheer at Wellesley Church, Methil, tomorrow at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £7 and are available on the door, from choir members or via the choir website: www. eastfifeladieschoir.org.uk
The choir will hold two other concerts at St Joseph’s Church, Burntisland, on December 11 and St Columba’s Church, Glenrothes, on December 14.
PUBLIC EVENT
The YMCA’s Marathon House in Cupar will host an equalities and hate crime public awareness event from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday.
CHORAL SOCIETY
Cupar Choral Society’s Christmas concert, a performance of Handel’s Messiah, starts at 7.30pm on Saturday in St John’s Church, Cupar.
Tickets are available at the door.
CHRISTINGLE
A Christingle service will be held in Torryburn Institute from 2pm to 3.30pm on Saturday.
The event, run by Culross and Torryburn Church parish, is mainly for youngsters but all are welcome.
Participants are asked to bring their own orange.
LANTERN WALK
A Christmas lantern walk will leave from the Christmas tree in Haugh Park, Cupar, at 5pm on Sunday and will tour local churches.
