Trio of wins for Menzieshill II

-

Menzieshill II seem unstoppable in the early stages of the Men’s National Indoor League Division 2 after three more victories last weekend.

Three goals for Chris Wilson and two for Keir Robb were most influential in their 9-6 win over Watsonians.

Against Hillhead it was three for Luke Cranney and two for Chris Wilson in their 8-5 victory.

Then a Perthshire team, severely depleted from last season, had little response as they went down 15-1.

This time it was Sam Tilston on top form with five goals closely followed by Luke Cranney with four.

Scott Glashan scored both Monarchs’ goals against Watsonians as they recovered from a three-goal deficit in the first half to narrow the gap to just one goal before conceding a fourth that clinched the points for the Edinburgh team.

Ross Glashan gave Monarchs an early lead against Hillhead, but they conceded twice late in the first half.

Hillhead pressed home their advantage early in the second half with three goals in the first three minutes and a single strike by Callum Boag did little to redress the balance, especially as Hillhead increased their lead to 7-2.

Hillhead eventually held on for a 7-5 victory.

Perthshire’s run of defeats continued losing 9-3 to Uddingston and 10-2 to Edinburgh University.
