Outbox can send winning message

-

OUTBOX can see off all challengers in Goodwood’s Qatar Summer Handicap, writes The Ferret.

The final day of the Glorious meeting will, for many of course, be all about finding the winner of the age-old puzzle that is the Unibet Stewards’ Cup.

But that historic six-furlong showpiece is just one of a series of handicap conundrums thrown up by a hugely competitive card, and Outbox could put punters ahead on points after round two.

Simon Crisford’s four-year-old faces a rematch with likely favourite King’s Advice, whose sequence of six con-secutive victories since joining Mark Johnston had come to a halt before the pair met at Newmarket in the middle of last month.

King’s Advice bounced back from his eclipse in the Northumberland Plate to run out an impressive winner over this onemile-six-furlong trip that day, with Outbox fading into a near six-length sixth.

King’s Advice has gone up 7lb for his trouble, though, and must concede six of them to Crisford’s gelding, who had a narrow Listed defeat on his latest return at Chantilly in June.
