Blue Brazil have grounds to feel a bit deflated

-

There is Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup secondround action tonight.

Montrose and Forfar clash in their second derby of the season, the Loons having won their Betfred Cup group game.

Across Angus, Brechin City welcome Elgin to Glebe Park.

Cowdenbeath head to Linlithgow Rose’s Prestonfield for their clash against a Hearts under-21 side.

The Edinburgh club opted to move the game to allow the surface at the Gorgie ground to recover after their first-team game against Ross County on Saturday and the recent concert by the LA Philharmonic Orchestra that marked the opening of the Edinburgh Festival.

Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan said: “I was at Prestonfield a few years ago when I was in charge of Forfar and it is a decent set-up, but it is not the same as taking a team in a cup-tie at Tynecastle.

“I am disappointed for my players that they are not getting the chance to play there and disappointed for the Hearts youngsters who would have enjoyed the experience of a competitive match there.

“In my opinion the tie has lost a bit of sparkle but we will just get on with things.”

East Fife will give starting debuts to 16-year-olds Josh McConville and Rory Cosgrove against visitors Stirling Albion.

Kelty Hearts are away to Annan Athletic while Raith Rovers travel north to play Ross County’s colts.

Grant Anderson and Kieron Bowie, who both scored in Saturday’s 5-2 trouncing of Clyde, are doubts for Rovers after going off with injuries at the weekend.
