From Porsche’s to Prison Van’s, Classic Auction brings Motoring History to Errol
This Saturday, 17th August, Classic fans from all over the UK will gather at Errol Airfield as the Summer 2019 Morris Leslie Classic Vehicle Auction takes place from 11am. The auction brings to light an eclectic mix of classic vehicles, all from the big brands you’d expect, including the renowned Vintage names including Bentley, Rolls Royce, Albion, Austin and Triumph, right through to the sports car specialists Porsche, Aston Martin, Mitsubishi and Subaru.
This auction boasts not one, not two but EIGHT Porsche’s! Amongst these is a Classic 1984 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo in Prussian Blue Metallic Paint with sumptuous blue leather interior, this is the car dreams are made of and with a guide price of £55,000 - £65,000, it’s sure to cause quite the bidding war! If you’re in the market for something more modern, also featured is a 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S in Black, a one owner from new example with excellent service history, this Black Beauty looks set to reach between £50,000 and £60,000.
If history is more your speed then you must take a look at the 1951 Albion FT521. Built as a Black Mariah Prisoner Transport Vehicle for City of Glasgow Police, this van has an infamous claim to fame as the vehicle that transported Scotland’s notorious serial killer, Peter Manuel to the gallows at Barlinnie in 1958. The morbid history of this vehicle has stirred some real media attention. Of course, there is the usual array of stunning classic cars, with some real head turners including a professionally restored, red, 1964 Mercedes 230 SL with a guide price of £40,000 - £50,000. You can’t fail to notice the unmistakeable curves of a 1970 Jaguar E-type also on display, an icon of the motoring world and fully restored to its former beauty, this E-Type is set to reach around £50,000-£60,000!
