Lambeth can walk it

Watson’s inmate looks sure to feature at Ripon

- THE FERRET

LAMBETH WALK has fallen short in two Group race starts so far, but Listed company should be well within her compass in the British Stallion Studs EBF Ripon Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy Stakes at the Yorkshire track.

Archie Watson has aimed high with this daughter of Charm Spirit after she won her first two starts as the odds-on favourite, jumping straight up to Group Two level at Royal Ascot.

She finished 10th behind Raffle Prize that day, but was only actually beaten five and a half lengths in a tight finish, staying on again at the finish over the minimum trip.

Watson felt she was worth a try over six furlongs after that, but again Raffle Prize was too good in the Duchess of Cambridge at Newmarket, although Lambeth Walk did narrow the gap.

She also reportedly finished lame on that occasion, so her fourth place was even more noteworthy and she promises to be a leading player here.

BODYLINE can bowl his rivals over in the Comparebettingsites.com Betting EBF Novice Stakes at Chepstow.

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained youngster ran a respectable race when

fifth first time up behind the smart Thunderous at Redcar, and came forward from that to get his head in front at Epsom.

There is almost certainly plenty more to come and it is worth noting the ultrashrewd Prescott has given his Australia colt a Derby entry. SELECTIONS:
