TIPS: Reeves tipped to bounce back

Cowell’s fouryear-old primed for return to the fray

- THE FERRET

REEVES can bounce back from a disappointing run at Wolverhampton last time out and regain winning ways in the Betway Heed Your Hunch Handicap on his return to Dunstall Park today.

Robert Cowell’s four-year-old had been successful in his four previous races before he came unstuck when only fifth to Young Fire.

The jockey reported to the stewards that Reeves had run flat, suggesting he might require a short break. Hopefully he will be refreshed and primed to return to the fray.

He drops back from seven furlongs to six and that looks a plus as he won over the course and distance at this grade in December.

DYNAMO WALT was victorious over this five furlongs in the same month and can repeat the trick in the Betway Handicap.

Derek Shaw’s nine-year-old stalwart has run creditably in defeat twice since and could be ready to strike again.

DANCING FEET can win at the first time of asking for her new trainer Archie Watson in the Betway Novice Median Auction Stakes.

The daughter of Footstepsinthesand had just the one run for David O’Meara before changing hands.

It was a promising one too at Doncaster in June, when she was not beaten far in fourth place behind Little Bird.

Watson is one of the best young trainers in the country. He has put faith in this filly, who runs in his colours.

COTTONOPOLIS should enjoy the switch up to 12 furlongs in the Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Handicap.

Mark Johnston’s runner has failed to hit the mark in five attempts so far, finding himself tapped for toe at the finish over a mile and a quarter on the last two occasions.

The extra two furlongs here looks likely to suit.

DOC SPORTELLO can back up a good run at Newcastle last time to take the spoils in the Betway Handicap at Southwell.

Tony Carroll’s eight-year-old stayed on strongly to claim minor honours over five furlongs on Teesside and is worth a try at seven furlongs.

Irish raider NEWGIRLINTOWN is of obvious interest in the Heed Your Hunch At Betway Handicap.

Gerard O’Leary’s filly finally got her head in front at the 10th attempt at Chelmsford on Saturday - winning with a degree of authority, despite getting loose before the start.

She returns to action just two days later under the mandatory penalty and can follow up – if she behaves before the off.
