Police appeal for three men who may have witnessed fatal crash
Police investigating a fatal collision in Dunfermline last week have appealed for a cyclist and two pub-goers to come forward.
Officers believe the men may have information which could help their investigation into the crash which resulted in the death of 33-year-old father-ofthree Steven Kennedy.
Mr Kennedy, died following a collision with a white Mercedes Benz A-Class on St Margaret Street at around 9.50pm last Wednesday.
The incident happened at the entrance to the St Margaret Street car park.
The car stopped and emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for more than two hours as police investigated the circumstances.
Mr Kennedy’s family yesterday released a statement via police, saying he was “a beloved fiancé to Katie and a devoted dad to his three children”.
They asked for their privacy to be respected.
Sergeant Alastair Purvis of Glenrothes road policing unit said: “We are still appealing for witnesses and specifically a man on a bicycle within the area of St Margaret Street at the time of the incident and two men that Steven may have been with at the Old Inn Pub.”
Mr Kennedy, a former Beath High School pupil, had worked at TechnipFMC in Dunfermline for more than a decade.
His colleagues had previously paid tribute to him, describing him as competent, well-liked, approachable and genuinely down-to-earth.
An online page on gofundme. com to raise money for Steven’s family has already raised more than £8,000.
