Stalker claimed nursery teacher victim was dabbling in drugs

A stalker turned up at a school and threatened to spread false claims that his nursery teacher victim was dabbling in drugs.

Scott Robertson, 47, admitted that for a week he constantly plagued former partner Debbie Robson with unwanted visits and phone calls.

Perth Sheriff Court heard that Robertson turned up at a Perth primary school to confront Miss Robson during his stalking campaign.

He parked in the car park in a way which obstructed her from leaving and shouted and swore at her before issuing threats against her.

Robertson admitted that he phoned her at work and demanded that she call him back, as well as threatening to make false claims about her lifestyle.

He admitted that he would tell her employer that she “engaged in the consumption of controlled drugs” when he knew the claims were not true.

The former Perth and Kinross Council lorry driver was also found with a knife in the centre console of his car when it was searched by police.

Sheriff James Macdonald said: “He had no legitimate reason to still have the knife in his possession. My concern is about the combination of charges.”

Robertson, Windsor Court, Perth, admitted engaging in a course of conduct which caused fear or alarm to Miss Robson in Perth last October.

In a separate case, he also admitted following another former partner, Brenda McCartney, in his car and repeatedly phoning her in Perth in March last year.

Sentence was deferred for the preparation of reports and the court will consider imposing a non-harassment order upon Robertson at that stage.
