Frustrated Blue Brazil are itching to get back playing

-

Cowdenbeath have seen the third spot they have held for most of the season come under threat from a host of clubs in recent weeks.

Manager Gary Bollan is hoping his side can now keep hold of it by returning to winning ways against visitors Edinburgh City today.

Bollan said: “It has been a frustrating time for the players and me both on and off the park.

“It is always disappointing to have one game postponed, as happened last Saturday when we just arrived in Elgin, but to have two with the midweek cancellation at Albion Rovers is really annoying.

“We have been itching to get back into things since losing at home to Stirling Albion a couple of weeks ago but have not been able to due to the weather.

“We know we have to put that defeat right and want to do that sooner rather than later. We also have been trying to get Chris Hamilton’s suspension after being sent off against Stirling overturned but not had any success with that.

“Normally he would have been free to play by this game but he has not served one of the games in his ban yet.”

Bollan added: “We have to accept that our place in the play-off zone is under pressure but there is not much you can do about that when you are not playing and the teams chasing you are.

“If you continue not playing you end up in a catch-up situation playing three times a week, so hopefully we can get this one on and defeat Edinburgh City for a second time at our place.

“They had been matching Cove

Rangers all the way for most of the season but have fallen behind in the past few weeks. They will not be happy about that and will be looking to ensure the gap does not get any bigger by beating us.

“They won the last meeting just after Christmas, so we are looking to put that right as well.”

Michael Herd is added after injury, with on-loan Hearts defender Hamilton the only absentee.
