It should be all systems go for the resumption of today’s national outdoor league programme – providing the weather plays ball.

Phase one ended in gridlock, with Dundee Wanderers sharing the 21-point mark with Edinburgh University, Clydesdale Western and Watsonians, while Western Wildcats are just two points off the pace of the Premiership contenders.

The Taysiders should bring three points back from their trip to GHK, with Clydesdale and Wildcats tipped to do likewise. The big game is without question atPeffermillwherechampionsEdinburgh University will be wary of the advances from capital neighbours Watsonians.

Grove Menzieshill head west looking to double up on their previous win over Glasgow University. If successful it would almost certainly distance them from being drawn into the relegation dogfight.

St Andrews University could do with a win over their Aberdeen counterparts to hoist themselves up the National League 2 table but Grove II’s chances of causing an upset against Clydesdale IIIs in Championship 1 would appear to be slim.

Perthshire, who elevated themselves to joint leadership of Championship 2 with Thursday night’s win over Strathclyde University, will look to build their promotion bid with a similar outcome against Glasgow University. In Championship 3, Kinross play host to Highland.

Victory for Wanderers II over Kinross II would close the gap to Midland leaders Madras who sit this weekend out, while Stirling University II seem certain to strengthen their grip on the Division 2 title with a win over Kinross IIIs.

Tomorrow Kinross II entertain St Andrews University III in the League Cup.
