Continuity for Burgh manager in cup clash

-

Newburgh face Super League South outfit Harthill Royal in the Thorntons Property Cup at Gibbshill Park.

Burgh manager Scott Hudson is expected to have the same squad available that won 5-3 against West Calder United a fortnight ago, with Harry Galloway suspended.

With the Super League North tie between Lochee United and Broughty Athletic postponed due to Broughty being in Scottish Cup action, the focus switches to the bottom of the table with Kirriemuir Thistle entertaining Forfar West End at Westview Park.

Two points separate the sides with West End occupying the basement position. Derek Lawson’s side will have been boosted by a 2-0 friendly victory over Montrose Roselea on Monday.

Scone Thistle begin a new era with Paul Martin as manager against league leaders Carnoustie Panmure.

The two meetings between the clubs this season have seen Carnoustie score 11 unanswered goals. They will look to take advantage of Broughty and Lochee United being without a league game.

The new Thistle boss is expected to have a full squad to choose from.

Robbie Holden will be looking for his Luncarty side to make it four straight wins as they travel to Dundee to take on Downfield at Downfield Park, while the Spiders will be hoping for a repeat of the 2-0 win last time they met.

Holden is without captain Stuart Nicol through suspension while Scott Mollison and Kieran Donald are out long term through injury.

Lochore Welfare became the latest club to commit to a future outside of the junior set-up this week, and this afternoon they face another departing club in Thornton Hibs.

Hibs boss Craig Gilbert is without three players on a stag weekend, and a couple of injuries, leaving a squad of 15 available.

The big game in the Premier League North is at Craigie Park where leaders East Craigie face second-placed Blairgowrie. The Shipbuilders sit two points clear of the visitors with two games in hand and are big favourites for the title.

Dylan Harkin picked up a knock last week against Tayport and is East Craigie’s only doubt for the game, while Blairgowrie manager Mark Brash is without Gordon Pirie and Ryan Menzies through work commitments.

Coupar Angus welcome Brechin Vics to Foxhall Park and will be looking for a repeat of the result at the start of February when Coupar won 4-3.

The home side are without Dylan Higgins through suspension but otherwise are at full strength.

Brechin Vics, still without a manager, are missing Adam Renilson through work. Barrie Gourlay is doubtful.

Lochgelly Albert welcome Sauchie to Gardiners Park in the Premier League South and have just three games of the season left.

Andy Healy’s men have played more games than those around them and will have to wait to see where they will finally finish.

Healy is able to welcome back Sam Mitchell from suspension but Andrew Stark is out through injury

Kirkcaldy and Dysart boss Craig Ness is without five players as they travel to face title-chasing Stoneyburn at Beechwood Park.

Ness is looking for his side to bounce back from their 4-3 defeat to Syngenta a fortnight ago but will find it tough without Jason Nouri through suspension.

He is joined on the sidelines by Bryan Strachan, Konnor Lindsay, Ryan McGowan and Nathan Feeley

With Newburgh in cup action, Rosyth have the chance to open a bigger gap at the top of the table with victory over Syngenta at Westfield Park.

Rosyth are without Dale Prattis due to work commitments but are otherwise at full strength.
