Scotland’s airline Loganair (loganair.co.uk), like most other airlines, is reducing the number of flights due to the impact of coronavirus. Chief executive Jonathan Hinkles said: “We will work to provide as much notice as possible when flight cancellations are made and an alternative or a refund offered.” He also made clear that no island community served by Loganair would be left without an air service, given the lifeline nature of many of the routes. The addition of 17 UK regional routes formerly flown by Flybe will also go ahead, but with a possible delay to the launch of some.
Travel insurers such as Allianz, Aviva, Holiday Extras and InsureandGo have responded to the pandemic by changing aspects of their policies so they no longer cover coronavirus-related incidents. Other insurers such as Admiral, Churchill, Direct Line, LV, More Than and the Post Office have temporarily suspended the sale of travel insurance to new customers. Most policies will not provide cancellation, disruption or abandonment cover if you travel or book a holiday against FCO advice.
