STIRLING. United Auctions sold 742 store cattle, native-bred cattle and young bulls, and 190 out-of spec cattle, cast cows and bulls on July 29.

Bullocks (351) averaged 218.49p and sold to 254.00p per kg for a 378kg Charolais cross from Hilton of Cardross, and to £1,480 for a 671kg Aberdeen-Angus cross from Burnhouse.

Dairy bullocks (45) averaged 173.38p and sold to 186.80p per kg for a 589kg Montbeliar­de cross from Bandirran, and to £1,100 for a 589kg Montbeliar­de cross from Bandirran.

Heifers (346) averaged 218.16p and sold to 245.80p per kg for a 480kg Charolais cross from Mahaar, and to £1,285 for a 622kg Charolais cross from Mid Knockglass. Beef cows and bulls (150) averaged 147.21p and sold to 186.10p per kg for a Limousin cross from Back o’ Muir, and to £1,650 for a Charolais from Balthayock.

Dairy cows (28) averaged 115.66p and sold to 157.30p per kg for a Holstein cross from Claylands, and to £1,050 for a Holstein cross from Bandirran. Out-of-spec cattle (12) averaged 168.20p and sold to 202.20p per kg for a Charolais cross from Silver Rigg, and to £1,410 for a Limousin cross from Cairnie.
