Dundee are eyeing a sensational swoop for former Dundee United hitman Nadir Ciftci.

Dens Park boss James McPake is looking to add firepower to his promotion push this season and Courier Sport understands the Turkish targets.

The 28-year-old has been back in his homeland for the past two years after leaving Celtic, recently signing a two-year contract with Super Lig side Caykur Rizespor.

However, that deal hasn’t worked out as planned and the striker is now available. forward is high on the list of

How a potential move goes down with Dees, though, is debatable to say the least.

Ciftci enraged Dundee players and the away support in a Tannadice derby back in May 2015 after an altercation with Dark Blues midfielder Jim McAlister.

Craig Bryson could be available for St Johnstone’s clash with Ross County this weekend after agreeing a one-year deal with the Perth club.

The 33-year-old is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to McDiarmid Park.

It comes less than two weeks after he was released by Aberdeen, with his 15 months at Pittodrie blighted by injuries.

Saints boss Callum Davidson confirmed his interest in the player this week, saying: “He’s one of many I’m looking at just now. He’s a good player and he’s obviously been released by Aberdeen. He’s definitely somebody we’re interested in, along with two or three others.”

Bryson – capped three times by Scotland – made his name at Clyde as a teenager, scoring in the club’s 2006 Scottish Cup upset victory over a star-studded Celtic side featuring Roy Keane and Neil Lennon.
