DINGWALL – Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd sold 1,355 weaned calves on Wednesday. Bullocks (815) averaged 252.2p (+30.3p on last year) and sold to 336.1p per kg for a 244kg Limousin cross from Kintradwell Estate, Brora, and £1,190 for a 585kg Simmental cross from Balgunloune, North Kessock.

Heifers (538) averaged 243.5p (+34.6p) and sold to 304.0p per kg for a pen of 250kg CharX from 9 Lochussie, Dingwall, and £1,210 for a pair of 435kg Limousin crosses from Muirton Mains, Urray. Young bulls (2) averaged 250.9p (+66.3p) and sold to 253.7p per kg for a 205kg Limousin cross from Achentoul Farms, Kinbrace, and £860 for a 345kg Charolais cross from Milton Farm, Aberarder.

HUNTLY – United Auctions sold 2,048 prime sheep on Wednesday.
