Assist ace Thomas the best Par none

-

Dom Thomas was once again the creative force as his Dunfermline side maintained their perfect start to the season in brutal conditions at East End Park.

The diminutive wide men was directly involved in all three goals as his side hit top spot in the league.

However, the Glaswegian is keeping his feet firmly on the ground .

He said: “It’s obviously great to chip in with assists for the team but the main thing is the three points and climbing up the table, and I think that puts us top.

“We’ ll just take every game as it comes, though, and we now look forward to Ayr Utd next Saturday.

“Yo u know playing in Scotland it’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows, so you just have to play the conditions as well and I thought we did that.

“We got ourselves in front and I thought the first half was very comfortable and we played good football, then to be fair to Queens they came out and had a go and caused us a bit of a problem but we were strong and took what they threw at us and we got the three points.

“We are winning games and that is the main thing but we are playing good football now.

“I honestly think we can still play better and go and put on better performances but again we have taken the first three games and maximum points so we will just keep going game to game.”

The game sprang into life after 20 minutes when Thomas found Euan Murray unmarked at the back post, with the captain making no mistake heading home to give the Pars the lead.

Another Thomas corner before half-time made its way out to Kyle Turner who rushed into the box before being felled by Daniel Pybus.

Dec lan McManus converted the penalty with an unstoppable drive into the top right corner.

Queens pulled one back five minutes into the second half with a longrange Joe McKee effort.

Dunfermline restored their two-goal advantage on the hour. Once again an in-swinging Thomas corner found Paul Watson who prodded home.

Veteran Stephen Dobbie pulling one back for the Doonhamers from the spot to set up a nervy ending.
