Abertay University to deliver free suite of digital marketing courses
Abertay University is to run a second round of ups killing courses following a spike in demand from local businesses and their employees in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The university launched the newly created suite of four digital marketing qualifications in June, with more than double the expected number of applications flooding in.
T he university said participants accepted on to the first tranche of courses came from a diverse range of sectors and included business advisers, charity managers , company directors, marketing and communications officers, small business owners among many others.
The courses are relevant for any sector and open to all.
The bite-sized courses from Abertay’s School of Business, Law and Social Sciences are aimed at
those seeking to improve their own skillset, as well as businesses looking to upskill employees who may have been furloughed or asked to take on new responsibilities.
The free courses are funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC).
Dr Donna MacKinnon, director of access, learning and outcomes at the SFC, described the courses as a
“responsive and timely investment in the Tayside economy”.
The next round of courses beg in on November 16 and participants can visit a bert ay.ac.uk/ shortcourses to find out more and book.
All are available online and include live teaching. There are no academic entry requirements.
