Probe after woman’s sudden death in flat

Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a 49-year-old woman at a block of flats in Fife.

Officers were called to a property in Westfield Avenue in Cup a ron Wednesday following concerns raised by a member of the public.

Police activity has continued at the building since the discovery, with forensic experts seen entering the property yesterday afternoon as the investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death continue.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.

“Her next of kin have been made aware and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
