Fifteen men due in dock following disturbance before Old Firm game
Fifteen men are set to appear in court after a disturbance just hours before the final Old Firm game of the season.
The fan disorder broke out ahead of the Rangers and Celtic kick-off in the cinch Premiership on May 1 near Forge Retail Park a short walk away from Parkhead, Police Scotland said.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, which all but sealed Celtic’s place as league champions.
Yesterday, the force said it had arrested five men shortly after the disturbance began at 10.45am and has since arrested another 10 in connection with the incident.
Officers said the 15 who have been charged in connection with the disturbance were aged between 17 and 40 years old and have been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.
They have also been banned from attending regulated football matches in Scotland.
The force said they will be reported to the procurator fiscal and inquiries are ongoing.
Meanwhile, six people were arrested as Celtic fans celebrated the club’s title win at the weekend.

Cross area after Saturday’s match against Motherwell, which kicked off at 12.15pm.
Police described the level of anti-social behaviour among the crowd as “unacceptable”.
They made six arrests and issued four fixedpenalty fines amid the celebrations.
Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland said: “While there was an unacceptable level of antisocial behaviour and littering, there were no serious incidents or disorder.
“There were some outbreaks of minor disorder and our officers acted swiftly and robustly to prevent escalation and protect safety.
“Over the course of the evening, there were six arrests for offences including assault and acts of public disorder.
“A further four people were issued with fixedpenalty notices.”
