Lib Dems are not hung up on history
Sir, – While, in my opinion, both the Scottish Labour Party and the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party treat independence voters of 2014 like myself with utter contempt both of them in their own way pandering to unionist voters with the former pretending to represent the working class and being the voice of reason is, in my opinion, why the sensible Scottish Liberal Democrats continue to benefit.
In Peterhead South and Cruden we had four candidates – two of them Tory, one SNP and one Scottish Liberal Democrat.
While the Scottish Labour Party chose not to stand any candidates along with the Scottish Green Party, Alba Party and independents, the Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate tried, and succeeded, to attract SNP voters, like myself, disillusioned Tory voters and anyone else to vote for him.
I watched Anas Sarwar try to justify his position on independence voters like myself and try to say he is being the sensible voice of reason, while implying, in my opinion, that independence voters of 2014, like myself, are stupid and trying to tell us both the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party and SNP are bad for Scotland and they will not go into coalition with either party.
He utterly failed to convince the audience member on debate night and he completely failed to convince me to vote for the Scottish Labour Party.
If both the Scottish Labour Party and Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party don’t want my vote that is a matter for them, but thank goodness the Scottish Liberal Democrats are not so stupid, in my opinion, and don’t reject votes simply because they come from independence voters of 2014.
Who is it again who is supposed to be obsessed with the constitutional question, according to both the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party and Scottish Labour Party?
Who completely fails to offer either me or my family anything?
