BLUEBELLS HIT SIX TO EASE INTO CUP FINAL

Lochee United sealed a place in the Thorntons Property Cup final – but will need to wait to see whether they face Kirriemuir Thistle or Downfield.

United led 1-0 at half-time through Kevin Milne’s 19th-minute goal but George Shield’s side stepped up a gear after the break and blew away Arbroath Vics.

Danny Cavanagh added a second goal and Kerr Hay scored to make it 3-0. United scored three times in the last 10 minutes through Luke Graham, a Ryan Stirton own goal and Cavanagh to complete a 6-0 victory.

The game between Kirrie Thistle and Downfield had to be abandoned with 10 minutes remaining following a serious injury to Downfield’s Gordon Norrie. The game will now be replayed tomorrow at Westview Park, with the winners facing United at Glenesk Park next weekend.

● Kennoway Star Hearts’ battle for a top seven position in the East of Scotland Conference A will go down to the last game of the season with the Treaton Park side part of a three-way battle with Coldstream and Edinburgh United.

Hearts picked up an impressive 1-0 win over Leith Athletic at Treaton Park on Saturday thanks to a Harris Kay goal just before half-time.

It goes down to next week now with Kennoway at home to Ormiston, while Edinburgh United welcome Thornton Hibs and Coldstream travel to relegated Craigroyston.

Oakley United missed out on the chance to win the Conference B title after conceding a stoppage-time winner to Heriot-Watt University at Blairwood Park and in turn created a massive threeway battle for the title next week.

Glenrothes are part of the title battle thanks to a 10-0 win over Easthouses Lily.

Next week Oakley travel to Edinburgh South, Glenrothes make the short trip to take on Newburgh and Preston Athletic are at home to Lochgelly Albert.

Elsewhere, Lochore Welfare sealed a top seven spot after a 1-1 draw at Hawick Royal Albert while Lochgelly Albert defeated Stirling University 2-1.
