Rest can dance to Swayze’s tune

-

Swayze is fancied to go close in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap at Nottingham.

This will be the Showcasing colt’s second run for William Muir and Chris Grassick, who have a big assignment on Friday at Epsom with Pyledriver.

The winner of one of his four outings for Martyn Meade, for whom he was tried in smart company at Goodwood, his debut for his new yard came at York’s Dante meeting and while ultimately well beaten, there was encouragement to be taken.

He showed loads of dash in the front rank and was still in there pitching before his 273-day absence took its toll from the furlong pole, although to his credit, he kept at it and was not beaten all that far.

Rather handily, he has been dropped 2lb for that and with that run under his belt, and down in grade, he has real claims on what will be only the sixth start of his career.

Russian Rumour has returned to the Flat in good shape and there is no reason she should not go well again in the Join RacingTV Now Handicap.

Jonathan Portman’s charge has just found one too good over two miles on her last two starts and might find coming back a couple of furlongs here to her advantage.

Although third over track and trip on debut recently, it would be no surprise to see Lisa Williamson’s Sugar Hill Babe overlooked once again by the market in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.

She made some eyecatching headway to make the podium alongside two Royal Ascot-bound fillies on that first start and is more than capable of getting a “one” next to her name with slight improvement.

Meanwhile, Monaadah is an interesting runner in the Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Novice Stakes at Kempton.
