WINGER FLIES IN ON LOAN AT COUNTY

-

Ross County have bolstered their squad with another signing – with more set to follow.

Owura Edwards became Ross County’s fourth summer arrival after joining on a season-long loan from Bristol City.

The 21-year-old winger has travelled with his new team-mates to Italy for a week’s training camp.

County boss Malky Mackay is delighted to have the young attacker on board.

He said: “Owura is a player that our recruitment department spent a significant amount of time tracking and during that process it was very clear that he is someone that would be a great addition to our group.

“At 21, he has gone out and proven himself across the EFL levels, really learning about the rigours of men’s football, and that is great credit to him.

“Prior to us coming to Italy, Owura came up to Dingwall to meet with us and both parties are excited about his move to the Scottish Premiership and the part he can play for Ross County.”

County are also working on a deal to bring former Kilmarnock goalkeeper Jake Eastwood back to Scotland.

The 25-year-old has reportedly joined the Staggies squad for the pre-season camp in Verona.

Mackay is looking to bring a new keeper on board after Ash MaynardBrewer returned to Charlton at the end of his loan spell last season.

He also had a spell on loan at Kilmarnock two years ago but suffered an injury on his debut against Hibernian and made only one more appearance for the club.

Meanwhile, highly-rated Southampton youngster Kazeem Olaigbe could be set to join on loan.

The 19-year-old Belgian signed a new deal with the Saints until June 2024 earlier this year.

The left winger, who has represented Belgium five times at U19 level, made 23 appearances for Southampton B in Premier League 2, scoring 12 goals and chipping in with four assists.

According to the Southampton-based Daily Echo, he is set to move to County on a season-long loan deal with an option to be recalled in January.
